You are my sunshine

Pokey came into my life as a tiny 6-week old kitten that looked more like a mouse than a cat. She had giant ears and beautiful eyes and a really sweet disposition. Over the years, she grew into her ears and gained attitude. She was a tough cookie - she had her pelvis broken in 3 places at 6-months old and had her thyroid radiated when she was about 10 years old.

She loved being the single cat in the house after our other cat Max died in October 2000. She loved all the attention and made sure that she was always in the same room with us, sleeping in our bed at night and hanging out with us in the evenings and weekends.

But in mid-October at 15-1/2 years old, she stopped eating and the vets found cancer in her abdomen. The surgery and chemotherapy all came too late - our little baby girl had to put to sleep. We miss her every day and can?t believe that we will never be able to pet her or see her again. She will be in our hearts forever.
